La Plancha - Spaans Restaurant in Leiden sinds 1980Spanish Restaurant in Leiden since 1980 | La Plancha Leiden

Family restaurant since 1980.

In 1980, the Spanish brothers Francisco and Victorio Fernandez realized their dream in Leiden. On the Morsstraat they opened La Plancha. A Spanish restaurant where they cook just like in their birthplace: Andalusia.

After 26 years, Francisco handed over his restaurant to his sons Miquel and Carlos. Since then, they have run the business with the same passion and without drastic changes. La Plancha is still the only true Spanish restaurant in Leiden.

The cozy atmosphere, the traditional ambiance and a diversity of dishes from the Andalusian kitchen will make you feel like you are spending an evening in Spain.

Traditional Spanish tapas and paella

Tapas, Paella.

Tapas is a collective name for all small (aperitif) snacks that are mainly eaten in bars and cafés in Spain. It is customary to put all kinds of different snacks on the table so that everyone can choose what they want to eat and enjoy different flavours.

Paella is a typical Spanish dish and originally comes from Valencia. Paella is a rice dish that has a different preparation method per region. The advantage of paella is that there are so many different types that almost everyone likes paella. The most important main ingredient is rice, and according to your own wishes you can choose to use fish and shellfish, chicken or pork.
